May 7, 2010 Presenter at the 4th Annual Health Professions Conference at Mt San Antonio College. Prepared a multimedia Power Point presentation to include overview of evidence based key points of chiropractic as a profession and healthcare choice as well as videos of palpation and adjustments. Sat on a panel named “Many ways to say “Doctor” with other medical professionals (Surgeon, EENT, GP, Naturopath).

April 27, 2012

Presenter at the 6th Annual Health Professions Conference at Mt San Antonio College. Presenter for a focus group titled: What is Chiropractic. Participant on an admissions panel on entry into health care professional colleges.

 

 

Committee Participation

Academic Standing Committee member since Fall Quarter, 2009

 

Institutional Review Board West Campus member since December 2009.

This board participation involves training and certification by the NIH regarding research being done on human subjects. Prep for each meeting includes reviewing any research proposals or updates and determining if the research must be denied or re-designed to avoid any human subject inappropriate handling.

 

Faculty Club and Event Advisor

Soft Tissue Club- I join the students once a week in a hands-on experience of muscle release technique emphasizing the Anatomy Trains, Functional Muscle Rehabilitation, Kinesiotape, and more.

Yoga Club- a club designed to create body awareness and provide a safe Yoga asana work out.

Rehab Club- started by a student who is an athletic trainer, this club allows students to learn the basics of rehabilitation and core stabilization.

Pro-Hike Club- a club created to allow for active movement outside while discussing chiropractic related topics. Each hike has had a diagnosis theme that is discussed while we get active in nearby rural hiking spots. (no longer an active club)

Extremities Club- this club allowed students to improve their diagnostic and adjustment setups in the extremities. (no longer an active club)
